Salary is often in 万円 ?

Many forms label 年収（万円） — annual income in 万円 (man-en). You type 500 meaning ¥5,000,000/year, not five hundred yen.

Employment type dropdowns ?

• 正社員 (seishain) — permanent / full-time employee
• 契約社員 (keiyaku-shain) — fixed-term contract employee
• 派遣社員 (haken-shain) — dispatched / temp-agency worker
• パート / アルバイト — part-time (パート often longer-term; アルバイト often student/casual — forms vary)
• 業務委託 / フリーランス — contractor (not always an “employee”)
• 自営業 (jieigyo) — self-employed
• 公務員 (komuin) — public servant
• 無職 / 学生 — not employed / student

年収 vs 月収 ?

年収 (nenshū) = annual income. 月収 (gesshū) = monthly. Don’t put a monthly figure in an annual 万円 box.

Before tax is usual ?

額面 / 税込 (gross / before tax) is what most 年収 fields want unless they say 手取り (tedori) — take-home.

Visa / status is separate ?

A work-style dropdown is not the same as residence status (在留資格). Pick the employment type that matches how you’re paid or contracted; immigration status is usually a different field.

Other form norms

• Phone examples on JP sites often show 090-1234-5678, but many fields want digits only / half-width — see the Phone / 〒 tab.
• 扶養 (fuyō) on tax/HR forms means dependents you claim — count people on the form’s rules, not “household vibes”.
• Company name often wants 株式会社 written out or as （株） per the form’s example — when unsure, copy from your contract or pay slip.
